What brought you to CrossFit?
I have always been passionate about health and fitness, My mother instilled good eating habits and a healthy fitness regime at a young age. I tried my first aerobics class at 13 yrs old and my love for fitness blossomed. I bounced around from various gyms in and around my neighbourhoods for over 20 years until I was introduced to of crossfit over 5 years ago. I thought I was in shape until I did my first WOD.
What was your first impression?
The workouts were challenging, the people were great, I felt encouraged and was hooked immediately.
How has that impression changed?
It hasn’t. I enjoy the community and the results I get from consistent work outs. I enjoy the variety and the attention to specific movements and the improvements I’m encouraged to make.
What was your best day at CrossFit?
Too many to choose just one. Days that I hit a PR or master a difficult movement always make me feel like I’ve achieved something I never thought I could. Having friends who cheer me on during comps also add to the enjoyment and make Crossfit an awesome environment for me to thrive in both physically and personally
What are some of your accomplishments?
I joined crossfit in an effort to lose weight and get skinny (haha). Quite the opposite happened, I gained 6 pounds (mostly muscle) and so much more. I gained confidence, a behind:-) and tons of strength. I can lift more then I ever thought I could and I continue to hit PR's and beat old WOD times on a regular basis. I have also competed in over 20 competitions with 1 1st place, 2 2nd places and 1 third place.
What are your new goals?
My new goals are to focus on maintaining my current level of fitness, building muscle and leaning out through healthy eating and diet.
What do you love most about CFNAC?
What I love most about CFNAC are the challenging workouts, the people that suffer right along side me throughout each and every WOD and the coaches that have a sense of humour and can deal with me and all my distracting nonsense.
