What brought you to CrossFit?

Saw the games on TV and thought it looked fun.  I needed to get in shape!

What was your first impression?

"WOW, I didn't realize I was so out of shape!" I loved the challenge of it, and was inspired but all the fit people.  I remember one of my first workouts (Nancy) doing the same weight as all the middle aged ladies, and I finished last.

How has that impression changed?

It hasn't. I continue to be blown away by people of all ages and fitness backgrounds (or none at all) working their asses off everyday.

What was your best day at CrossFit?

Any day that I walk in and there are a bunch of friends there to push me through a tough workout... which is basically everyday.

What are some of your accomplishments?

I developed quite the 'dad-bod' long before having kids, and made the decision that it wasn't how I wanted to enter parenthood.  I was just shy of 210lbs and could squat about 75 pounds (seriously), and hardly do a pull-up.  I'm now 168-173 (depending on how many doughnuts I've had any given week), and always feel really good.

What are your new goals?

I want to be able to continue keeping up with my boys for a really long time.  Already chasing Ben all over the park and teaching him crazy stuff.  I want to raise active and healthy kids...also, wouldn't mind squatting 3 plates, and deadlifting 4!

What do you love most about CFNAC?

Number one is the people.  Supportive and fun every single day, they make the gym! The second thing is that CrossFit allows me to go out in the world and do anything I want, from working in the yard/on the house, to waterskiing
