What brought you to CrossFit?

I was looking for something new to try for my fitness routine. I have found over the years it's good to change things up to stay motivated. CrossFit was something I was familiar with and included a lot of things that I already liked to do as well as added a variety of new things to try. What really drew me to CFNAC was the programming - I loved how they combined the strength training with the conditioning.

What was your first impression?

I remember being so intimidated when I first started. As someone who is shy it's hard to try new things but I loved the workouts and the coaches were so friendly and helpful.

How has that impression changed?

Sometimes the workouts are still intimidating but it's great to be able to go to a place and workout with friends - and I do love the challenge!

What was your best day at CrossFit?

There have been so many amazing days but one that sticks out was during the Open - 16.1. It was such a tough workout but I remember so many times during the workout looking up and seeing people I knew sitting there cheering me on and there were times during the workout I wanted to stop but there were people telling (and yelling at) me to keep going and not to stop. I was honestly only able to finish the workout under the time cap because of that. It's amazing to see what you can do when you are surrounded by people encouraging you!

What are some of your accomplishments?

I learned so much when I did the Next Level Program with Joyanne (got hspus and finally got toes to bar - still working on stringing them together!).

What are your new goals?

I just want to continue to improve my Olympic lifts and learn new skills!

What do you love the most about CFNAC?

The community, for sure. I remember hearing about CrossFit before and people would talk about the community and how great it is. It was not something I fully understood until I experienced it. CrossFit does have a unique community and that component really adds to the experience of working out. It is amazing to be a part of a community full of people helping you on your journey, pushing you towards your goals and friends encouraging you and challenging you to work harder.
