What brought you to CrossFit?
I was looking for something more than the globo gym model I had tried and not stuck with in the past. CrossFit had always appealed to me so Kayla signed us up for the assessment and here we are a year and half later.
What was your first impression?
The assessment was probably the hardest physical thing I had ever done in my life. But Jesse was awesome and worked me through it. When we started classes I couldn't believe how friendly and open everybody was. We met some amazing people during our trial and that definitely was big factor in signing up.
How has that impression changed?
The assessment definitely isn't the hardest thing I have done now. It might not even make the top 20. But the rest has only gotten stronger. We have friends for life from the gym. I honestly can't think of one person that hasn't made us feel welcome and part of the community.
What was your best day at CrossFit?
Best and worse are probably the same. CF24 last year was amazing and tough. Helping to plan it and participate was a great experience. Getting to workout along side the Special Olympic athletes was great fun and we were able to provide them with some funding to help them in there journey.
What are some of your accomplishments?
Starting last year I was 40 lbs heavier and very unhealthy. I now feel great and life is easier.
What are your new goals?
Continuing to chase PRs and work towards better mobility.
What do you love most about CFNAC?
Hands down the people. From Michelle and Ryan to the trainers to the front desk staff to all the members. This place has literally changed my life and I will be forever grateful.
